Theoni Stathopoulou


Theoni Stathopoulou is a sociologist. Research Director at the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE) in Athens, Greece. She is appointed as a member of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation and serves as the alternate representative of the European Statistical Advisory Committee (ESAC) on the Hellenic Statistical System Advisory Committee. She has participated in CESSDA and is the scientific coordinator for the CLARIN_ El infrastructure at the National Centre for Social research. As a core member of the national coordinating team of the European Social Survey (ESS-ERIC) in Greece, she has been actively involved in the development of event monitoring tools for survey purposes. She has participated in various international and national research projects and was recently awarded an EEA grant for research on migrants in Greece. Her main research interests include survey methodology, computational social science, religion, migration, and social movements. Her work is featured in Ashgate, Cambridge Scholars Publishers, Springer, and McGill University Press.
